About us
Viv and Phil Gray, along with their three sons, live at the property of "Longford", 8km from the township of Waiau, North Canterbury.
With an emphasis on sustainability and biodiversity, Phil planted a variety of amenity trees, (fruit and nut), on their organic property. This led to an interest in using locally sourced Hazelnuts. Once they discovered a fantastic chocolate brownie recipe enhanced with the flavour of Hazelnuts, "The Nut House" was created.
The Gray family have farmed the Longford property since 1973, with the property achieving organic certification in 2005.
Viv and Phil are passionate about quality food, which led them to research best practices for healthiest options, and in turn providing excellent quality products to customers.
Viv is the recipe designer, manufacturer, marketer and sales team. With a finger on every part of the business, she can guarantee the product is top quality and that every step of the process is completed to a high standard.
Viv and Phil are involved in many community activities including tennis, rugby, and scouts, and Viv is currently a member of the Amuri School Board of Trustees.
Viv and Phil also squeeze in some running and outdoor adventure races in their spare time.
